The theme for GeoMUN III is Chasing Horizons, Balancing Consequences, a call for delegates to reflect on humanity’s relentless pursuit of progress while recognizing the responsibility that accompanies it. Today’s world is defined by bold ambitions—expanding technological frontiers, venturing into uncharted territories, and imagining what lies beyond our current limits. Yet with each new horizon comes a set of challenges that demand thoughtful consideration. From the environmental implications of artificial intelligence to the geopolitical tensions shaping the Race for the Arctic and the ethical dilemmas surrounding the Race for Space, progress must be accompanied by caution, cooperation, and global awareness. At this conference, delegates are called to examine not just where we can go, but how we can get there, ensuring that ambition and innovation remain balanced with sustainability, equity, and long-term stewardship.
